Editorial Policy
Scope
The journal publishes original research, reviews and applied studies on technologies, their integration and applied innovation across its twenty fields. The field is decided by the paper’s main contribution: research centred on people and life in the digital environment fits Digital Life & Technology better, and humanistic or social research not anchored in technology fits New Humanitarian Knowledge Research better; interdisciplinary research is welcome in the journal closest to its contribution.
Editorial screening
On receipt, the editorial team checks fit with the journal’s scope, completeness of the scholarly elements, sound referencing, use of the journal template and the page limit, and the absence of plagiarism or evident ethical violations. A paper may be declined at this stage if it does not meet these essential requirements.
Peer review before publication
Papers that pass editorial screening undergo peer review of their originality, methodological soundness, accuracy of findings and contribution. Review comments are sent to the author when revisions are requested. No paper is published before human review, peer review and the editorial decision are complete.
Editorial decision
- Accept: the paper is accepted for publication; the approved publication fee is then requested, and the paper is published once the publication requirements are met.
- Request revisions: the paper is returned to the author with the required revisions and is reassessed after the revised version is uploaded.
- Reject: the author is informed of the decision and its reasons.
The editorial board takes the final decision, and responsibility for every decision rests with people.
Open scholarly evaluation after publication
The journal relies on human editorial review and peer review before publication, followed by open scholarly evaluation after it: any reader may send a scholarly comment, an evaluation or a note on an error from the paper’s page, and contributions are published after the editors review them, with their date and the author’s reply when there is one. This policy evolves with experience.
Corrections and retractions
If a substantive error comes to light after publication, a dated correction notice linked to the paper is published. A paper is retracted where plagiarism, fabrication or serious ethical misconduct is established, with a clear retraction notice stating the reason; published papers are not silently removed.
Integrity and ethics
- Authors are responsible for the originality of their work and the accuracy of their data and references.
- Authors disclose funding sources and any conflict of interest.
- Research involving human participants respects informed consent and privacy.
